Lisa Obergottsberger PT, DPT, MSPT, SCS. - Lisa grew up in Bellingham, graduating from Sehome High School in 1988. She then went to Pullman, and graduated from Washington State University in 1992, with a Bachelor's in Biology. Lisa has been a physical therapist since 1995, graduating from the University of Colorado Health Sciences School of Physical Therapy. She has specialized in Orthopedic Outpatient Physical Therapy, with emphasis in sports injuries, neck/back/spine injuries, Vestibular Rehabilitation, and motor vehicle accidents. In 2013 Lisa completed coursework for the transitional Doctorate in Physical Therapy degree from Pacific University in OR. Classes focused on clinical reasoning and differential diagnosis of orthopedic conditions. Her research project focused on the benefits of spinal stabilization exercises in the treatment of lumbar pain and dysfunction.
Pandora Drossos, PT, DPT -
Pandora received her Clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2006, from Ithaca College, in Ithaca, New York. Over the course of her career, she has practiced primarily in the outpatient orthopedic and home health settings, with an emphasis in sports-focused rehabilitation. She has been actively engaged in the field of since discovering her love for physical therapy 20 years ago. She especially enjoys treating the shoulder, hip, knee, and spine. She has considerable experience treating most orthopedic conditions, including post-operative.
Her treatment approach is holistic in nature, drawing from her experiences in treating clients in their homes, her own healing journey, and her journey into motherhood. Healing is not limited to your physical body, but involves the whole person, as well as the settings in which a person can function. Her “Art of Physical Therapy” focuses on sharing knowledge with clients to facilitate in healing themselves, and to reduce the likelihood of further issues in the future. She trains clients with specifically targeted exercises for each person's condition, utilizing hands-on manual therapy to assist. Home exercise programs and self-care training are key to her treatment approach, as most of the healing process takes place outside of the PT clinic. She enjoys developing relationships with her clients based on trust and clear communication. She is deeply compassionate and competent, working with her patients to identify and address their physical therapy needs, with the end-goal of independent self-management.
She spends her time away from the office with her family, and our community. She is always seeking to learn and experience new things, both professionally and personally. She trains in martial arts, and loves doing anything outdoors, including hiking, camping, gardening, and kayaking, among other things.
Kimberly Burns (Polishchuk) DPT, OCS - Kim is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and graduated from Temple University with her Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree (DPT) in 2012 and has been a Board Ceritified Orthopedic Specialist (OCS) since 2018. What Kim loves most about being a PT is providing highly individualized hands on interventions, exercise, and education to help clients get back to what they love doing most. Kim prioritizes client understanding. She invests time in client education regarding anatomy and basic kinesiological concepts to ensure that clients understand exactly what is driving their condition and what the plan of action is to ensure that a client meets their goals.
Kim's practice includes an extensive skill set and passion for data-driven, evidenced based interventions. She is also a certified practitioner in both the Selective Functional Movement Assessment and the Functional Movement Screen. She has advanced training and extensive exeperience in Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) using gua sha and cupping Therapy and she applies these skills and experience with her clients on a daily bassis. She also has a extensive experience in screening and rehabilitating teen and preteen dancers. When kim is not treating clients she enjoys knitting, hiking, paddle boarding and chasing after her two little girls.
Kandace Ackelson PTA - Born and raised in Bellingham, Kandace is a true Pacific Northwest native. She has a love for nature and the beauty Washington State provides. She strives to help her community by supplying her patients with the tools needed to accomplish their goals and get back outdoors. She grew up active in sports, competing world-wide in Irish Step Dancing and swimming in college. After working over 10 years as a PTA, she has decided to go back to school to accomplish her doctorate in physical therapy. She specializes in Aquatic Therapy and has a special interest in sport-related rehabilitation. In her spare time, she enjoys being outside amongst the captivating North Cascades hiking, backpacking, paddling, and fishing.
Misty Manherz LPTA - Misty grew up in southern California, moving to WA 22 yrs ago. She returned to college when her youngest began school, graduating from Whatcom Community College PTA program in 2015. Having had a close family member experience with disabilities, she is passionate about helping people get back to the activities they need/want. She has experience with a variety of conditions, ranging from geriatric to sports to post-operative. She is a believer in lifelong learning and is excited to what the future holds for herself and her patients. She has three teenagers and a new husband, which keep her on her toes. She is a "Jill-of-all-crafts but a master of none, a runner(racing 5k's when healthy), cook, reader, and music lover.
Katie Olinger, MS,ATC, ATL
Reception - Katie is a BOC certified and Washington State Licensed Athletic Trainer. She works alongside physical therapists in providing care to patients in an orthopedic outpatient clinic and through outreach to local sporting teams. Katiet splits her time between clinic and working with Chuckanut Bay Rugby and the Bellingham Bells baseball team. Within the clinic she works with patients with a variety of orthopedic injuries, post-surgical, acute athletic injuries, work related injuries, and chronic pain. When working with teams she provides medical coverage for all athletes at home events. Coverage includes evaluation and treatment for acutes injuries, and the treatment, rehabilitation and prevention of injuries. She provides patient care in the form of manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education, modalities, strength and rehabilitation exercises, and prevantative exercises, along with recommendations for future strength and conditioning depending on what activities or work the patient is returning to.
Her favorite parts of her position are the variety of injuries and patients seen throughout the day and the challenge of thinking outside of the box because every case is unique and presents differently. She also enjoys working alongside many colleagues since they each have different educational backgrounds and have knowledge to share. When not in the clinic or on the sidelines, she enjoys being outdoors hiking and kayaking. She also loves cooking and baking. Spending time with friends, and playing the occasional tennis match. Katie was born and raised in Ohio and moved to Bellingham in 2017. She completed her Bachelors of Sciens in Athletic Training at The Ohio State University in 2017 and her Masters of Science in Kinesiology at Western Washington University in 2019. She has been BOC certified and Washington State licensed in Washington since 2017.
